What is Samurai?
Samurai is an AI-native analog IC design platform that helps analog designers operate 10x faster.
Custom ASIC development traditionally requires weeks of manual topology selection, component sizing, and iterative simulation to hit strict PPA targets. Powered by a proprietary AI corpus encoding analog design intuition, Samurai automates and accelerates these high-friction steps.
Beyond acceleration, Samurai provides dedicated, secure enterprise environments where teams can digitize domain-specific tacit knowledge—such as RF, power management, or sensor design. This mitigates risks associated with workforce attrition and retirement, ensuring design team’s hard-earned expertise remains a permanent competitive advantage.
Why hasn't anyone attempted to automate chip design yet?
Plenty have, but with limited success in analog. Digital design absorbed most of the automation investment over the past forty years, largely because RTL and other hardware description languages gave it a clean abstraction to automate against. Analog never had that: the field is far more complex, and expertise is gated by years of tacit knowledge that resists being written down as rules. Given how long a single design already takes, it has historically been more economical for companies to hire more analog engineers than to invest in tooling to replace them.
We believe the economics have changed. Advances in AI let us do something that was not possible before: turn what used to be one-off, single-use design work into a reusable corpus of analog design knowledge. Samurai's team combines deep ML expertise with direct access to experienced analog talent — the pairing needed to actually build this.
How is Samurai different from traditional EDA tools?
Traditional EDA tools give expert designers a canvas and simulators, but the design work itself is manual and can take weeks per block. Samurai starts from a plain-English specification and automates synthesis and verification end to end, producing a simulated, spec-checked schematic in a fraction of the time. It complements existing flows rather than replacing them: you can export verified netlists or schematics and continue in your usual toolchain.

What makes analog different?
Analog signals vary continuously — every point on the scale is a valid value, giving infinite resolution but making circuits notoriously hard to design. Digital signals have only fixed states, which is why digital design was automated decades ago.
